Why a Single Visit Makes Sense
Booking these components separately would mean three different visits, three separate reports, and over £1,544 in fees — and you would still need to find a GP willing to interpret them all together. The Advanced Health Check delivers everything in one coordinated visit.
Advanced Health Check — Value Breakdown
| Full Body Ultrasound Plus (9 scans) | £800 |
| 24-marker Wellness Blood Panel | £544 |
| 30-min GP Consultation | £200 |
| Total when booked separately | £1,544 |
| Advanced Health Check package | £1,495 |
| You save | £49 |
More importantly than the cost saving, you receive: an integrated GP-led interpretation reading scan findings (including breast assessment) alongside blood results, a single coordinated visit, and a comprehensive integrated written report drafted by your GP.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about the Advanced Health Check at London Private Ultrasound.
What is the Advanced Health Check?
The Advanced Health Check is our mid-tier Health Check Package combining three components in a single visit:
- Full Body Ultrasound Plus — 9 comprehensive scans including bilateral breast, armpit (axilla), and chest wall in addition to thyroid, carotid, abdomen, kidneys, pelvic/genital, and lymph nodes
- Comprehensive Wellness Blood Panel — 24 markers covering haematology, biochemistry, organ function, metabolic health, hormones, plus CA125 (women) or PSA (men)
- GP Consultation — 30-minute face-to-face appointment with a GMC-registered GP
From £1,495 all-inclusive. No GP referral required.
How is Advanced different from Comprehensive Health Check?
The Advanced Health Check includes everything in the Comprehensive Health Check (£1,295) plus three additional ultrasound examinations:
- Bilateral breast ultrasound — both breasts comprehensively scanned
- Armpit (axilla) imaging — axillary lymph node assessment
- Chest wall examination — superficial soft tissue assessment
The blood panel and GP consultation are identical to the Comprehensive tier. The £200 difference reflects the additional 20 minutes of ultrasound time and breast imaging expertise.
Choose Advanced if:
- You are a woman aged 30+ wanting breast screening
- You have family history of breast cancer
- You have breast implants and want surveillance
- You have noticed any breast or armpit changes
- You want the most comprehensive ultrasound-only Health Check
How much does the Advanced Health Check cost?
The Advanced Health Check costs £1,495 all-inclusive. The fee includes:
- 80-minute Full Body Ultrasound Plus with a registered ultrasound consultant (9 body regions)
- 24-marker Comprehensive Wellness Blood Panel
- 30-minute face-to-face GP consultation
- Same-day verbal results from your ultrasound consultant
- Integrated written report combining all findings
- NHS referral letter at no additional charge if needed
When booked individually, the equivalent components would cost over £1,544.
Who performs the breast ultrasound?
Your breast ultrasound is performed by one of our registered ultrasound consultants, all trained in breast ultrasound assessment:
- Mr Reza Farahmandfar — holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Breast Medical Ultrasound and is our specialist lead for breast imaging
- Mr Pedram Aghaei — Vascular Scientist & Ultrasound Consultant
- Dr Reza Salehi — Ultrasound Consultant
- Mrs Ruchi Gupta — Sonographer
- Mr Edwardo Murakami — Sonographer
Same-gender clinician available on request. Medical oversight by our Medical Director, Dr Babak Soleimanpour (GMC: 6060555).
Should I choose Advanced or Executive Health Check?
Both Advanced and Executive include the same Comprehensive Wellness Blood Panel and GP consultation. The difference is the cardiology component.
Choose Advanced (£1,495) if:
- You have no specific cardiovascular concerns
- You want comprehensive ultrasound screening including breast/chest
- You want the full Wellness Blood Panel and GP review
- You are not in a high cardiovascular risk group
Choose Executive (£1,795) if:
- You are aged 50 or older
- You have any cardiovascular risk factors (family history, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes)
- You have noticed cardiac symptoms (chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath)
- You want the most thorough screening available
Executive adds a complete Heart Health Check with Echocardiogram, ECG, and Cardiologist consultation.
Is Advanced Health Check suitable for men?
Yes. Although the Advanced tier is particularly valuable for women due to the breast component, men also benefit significantly:
- Men can develop breast tissue abnormalities including gynaecomastia and rarely male breast cancer
- The chest wall examination assesses underlying tissue and identifies palpable lumps or lipomas
- The axillary lymph node assessment is valuable for any individual
- Combined with the standard Full Body Ultrasound (testis, prostate, abdomen, etc.), the comprehensive blood panel including PSA, and the GP consultation, the Advanced Health Check provides thorough male preventive screening
If you have specific cardiovascular concerns, however, Executive would be more appropriate.
What blood tests are included?
The same Comprehensive Wellness Panel as Comprehensive and Executive Health Checks — 24 markers across multiple categories:
- Haematology: FBC, ESR
- Kidney function: Urea, Creatinine, eGFR, Sodium, Potassium, Chloride, Bicarbonate
- Liver function: Bilirubin, ALP, AST, ALT, Gamma GT, Total Protein, Albumin, Globulin
- Bone & mineral: Calcium, Phosphate, Magnesium, Uric Acid
- Metabolic: Glucose, HbA1c, Triglycerides, Cholesterol (Total/HDL/LDL/Non-HDL)
- Iron & vitamins: Iron with TIBC, Ferritin, Vitamin D (25-OH)
- Thyroid: TSH, Free T4
- Inflammation: CRP
- Sex-specific cancer marker: CA125 (women) or PSA (men)
How should I prepare?
For accurate blood and ultrasound results:
- Fast for 8 hours before your appointment — water permitted
- Drink 500ml of water 30 minutes before arrival to fill the bladder
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing in two pieces — you will need to undress to the waist for the breast and chest wall examination
- Avoid wearing perfume, deodorant, or talcum powder on the chest area
- Take your usual medications unless advised otherwise
- Bring any prior imaging, mammograms, or breast biopsies, plus a list of specific concerns for the GP
- Allow approximately 2.5 hours for the appointment
Does this replace mammography?
No. Breast ultrasound is complementary to mammography, not a replacement.
The NHS Breast Screening Programme uses mammography as the primary screening tool for women aged 50–71. Ultrasound is particularly useful for:
- Women with dense breasts — where mammography is less sensitive (up to 40% of women under 50)
- Women under 40 — where dense tissue makes mammography less effective
- Women with breast implants — for implant integrity assessment
- Anyone with palpable lumps — for characterisation
- Supplementary screening — between mammograms
Your GP can advise on whether mammography is also recommended and provide referral if needed.
How does this work with the National Health Service?
Many of our patients are concerned that if they come to us, they won’t be able to go back to public health. That simply is not the case.
If your Health Check identifies a condition requiring NHS specialist management — such as a suspicious breast lesion requiring breast clinic referral, or any other finding requiring further investigation — we generate a same-day formal referral letter for your NHS GP at no additional charge. The referral is significantly stronger because it includes confirmed imaging findings, comprehensive blood results, and your private GP’s clinical assessment.
