There is no single best clinic for everyone. For treatment providers, use the HFEA’s independent clinic-search tool to compare licensed centres, inspection ratings and verified results. London Private Ultrasound is a CQC-registered diagnostic clinic: our role is rapid fertility testing, clear written reports and GP interpretation before treatment decisions.

Private access is generally faster and more flexible, but the clinical treatment is not automatically better. NHS eligibility and waiting times vary locally, while private IVF can cost thousands of pounds per cycle before medication. We do not provide IVF; we provide the diagnostic testing that comes before that decision.

Headline success rates are easily misread because they depend on age, case mix and whether results are reported per cycle or per transfer. Use HFEA-verified data, compare your own age group and read inspection information alongside the numbers.

We are a diagnostic fertility-testing clinic. We provide pelvic and testicular ultrasound, ovarian-reserve and hormone blood tests, semen analysis, GP interpretation and written reports. IVF, IUI, egg freezing, donor treatment and embryo transfer are provided by HFEA-licensed treatment centres.

Both partners should be investigated at the same time. First-line female testing commonly includes pelvic ultrasound with antral follicle count, AMH, cycle-timed reproductive hormones, progesterone, thyroid function and prolactin. First-line male testing starts with semen analysis, with testicular ultrasound and hormones where indicated.

AMH can be taken on any cycle day. FSH, LH and oestradiol are usually taken on days 2–5, while progesterone is usually tested about seven days before the next period is due. A fertility ultrasound with antral follicle count is usually most useful in the first half of the cycle. Tell the team your cycle length and last-period date when booking.

AMH estimates ovarian reserve, but it does not tell you whether natural conception will happen. It does not assess egg quality, the fallopian tubes, the uterus or sperm. It is most useful when read with age and an antral follicle count.

No GP referral is needed for the services on this page. Same-day and next-day appointments are often available at both clinics, seven days a week. Scan findings are explained during the appointment and the written report normally follows within 24 hours; most blood panels take one to three working days.

It assesses the uterus, endometrium and ovaries and can count antral follicles. It can show fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometriomas, polycystic-appearing ovaries and lining abnormalities. It cannot confirm whether the fallopian tubes are open; that needs a HyCoSy or HSG at a specialist unit.

Our Standard Male Fertility Test starts at £669 and includes comprehensive semen analysis, testicular ultrasound, a GP appointment and medication review. The Advanced option at £859 adds the male hormone profile. Follow the clinic’s preparation instructions, including the required abstinence period, before producing the sample.

The tests are broadly the same, but results must be interpreted in the context of age and it is reasonable to investigate sooner. Testing both partners promptly gives more time to decide on appropriate next steps.

Yes. You receive a written report that you can share with another provider. Individual treatment centres decide which external results they accept and how recent they must be, so check their policy before booking if you already have a centre in mind.

Our £999 Recurrent Miscarriage Health Check combines detailed pelvic imaging, including 3D assessment of the uterine cavity, with thyroid and hormone testing and a GP review. Some causes need specialist NHS or fertility-unit testing, and a proportion of recurrent loss remains unexplained even after investigation.

Fertility ultrasound commonly includes a transvaginal scan because it gives the detail needed for follicle counts and endometrial assessment. It is only performed with your consent. Female ultrasound consultants can be requested at no extra cost, subject to the rota, and a chaperone is available.

Yes. Couples can arrange back-to-back appointments, with a separate report for each person. A GP appointment is included in the two main assessment packages; after standalone tests, an additional private GP consultation can be arranged if needed.
