How often should implants be checked?
Many implant patients choose periodic surveillance, particularly for silicone implants after several years. If you notice pain, hardness, asymmetry, shape change or suspected rupture, book an assessment regardless of the timing of your last scan.
Does the scan damage implants?
No. Ultrasound is non-invasive and does not use radiation or breast compression. It is widely used for implant surveillance and assessment of symptoms.
