31-Marker Blood Panel, Structured by Clinical Purpose
The blood panel is organised into clinically meaningful categories so patients can understand why each group is included.
Blood Panel Overview
31 markers total: haematology, kidney, liver, cardiac/muscle enzymes, bone, metabolic, iron studies, thyroid, ferritin and HE4. The GP reviews results alongside ultrasound findings and symptoms, not in isolation.
1. Haematology & Inflammation
Assesses anaemia and inflammatory patterns, especially relevant for heavy or abnormal bleeding.
- FBC with 5-part differential
- ESR
2. Kidney & Electrolytes
Baseline renal and electrolyte markers relevant to general health and medication safety.
- Sodium, Potassium, Chloride, Bicarbonate
- Urea, Creatinine, eGFR
3. Liver Profile
Important because hormone metabolism and many medicines are liver-dependent.
- Bilirubin, ALP, AST, ALT, GGT
- Total Protein, Albumin, Globulin
4. Cardiac, Muscle, Bone & Metabolic
Provides broader baseline screening for systemic contributors and general health.
- LDH, CK
- Calcium, Phosphate, Uric Acid
- Glucose, Triglycerides, Cholesterol
5. Iron, Ferritin & Thyroid
Particularly useful for heavy bleeding, fatigue, cycle changes and anaemia risk.
- Iron, TIBC, Ferritin
- Free T4, TSH
6. HE4 Marker
HE4 is included as an additional tumour marker and should always be interpreted with imaging, age, symptoms and clinical risk factors.
- HE4 — Human Epididymis Protein 4
- Interpreted by GP with ultrasound context
What’s Assessed in the Pelvic Ultrasound
Comprehensive 20-30 minute pelvic ultrasound combining transabdominal and (where appropriate, with consent) transvaginal imaging — performed by a Specialist Sonographer. Female sonographer available on request.
Endometrial Thickness
High-resolution measurement of endometrial thickness — critical in postmenopausal bleeding investigation. Threshold >4mm with postmenopausal bleeding typically warrants further workup per NICE guidance.
Endometrial Echotexture
Assessment of endometrial appearance — homogeneous, heterogeneous, hyperechoic, or hypoechoic patterns. Helps differentiate normal cyclical changes from pathology.
Endometrial Polyps
Detection of intracavity polyps — common cause of intermenstrual bleeding, postmenopausal bleeding, and infertility. 3D Pelvic Ultrasound add-on (+£269) provides better polyp characterisation.
Uterus
Size, shape, position. Detects fibroids (location, size, type), adenomyosis features, and structural anomalies (e.g., bicornuate uterus).
Ovaries & Pelvis
Bilateral ovarian assessment for cysts, masses, follicular patterns. Pelvic free fluid detection.
Female Sonographer + 24h Report
Female sonographer available on request — please mention at booking. Detailed radiology report typically within 24 hours.
How the Package is Delivered
Two coordinated visits ensure your GP and Pharmacist review actual results, not just history.
Visit 1 — Investigations
All investigations performed in a single ~45-60 minute appointment: Pelvic Ultrasound (transabdominal and/or transvaginal, female sonographer if requested, 20-30 minutes) and blood test for the 31-marker comprehensive panel including HE4. Same-day verbal scan findings provided.
Ultrasound Report Ready
Detailed written ultrasound report typically available within 24 hours of Visit 1.
Blood Results Ready
31-marker blood panel processed at our partner UKAS-accredited laboratory. Results typically ready within 3-5 working days.
Visit 2 — GP Consultation + Pharmacist
Held on the first Friday after Visit 1 — when all reports are ready. A 30-minute GP Consultation combined with the Pharmacist medication review. The GP discusses endometrial concerns, symptoms, and risk factors, and personalises your care plan.
Integrated Written Report
Comprehensive written report combining all imaging, blood, GP, and Pharmacist findings — delivered within 5-7 working days of Visit 2.

Optional add-ons are grouped by clinical purpose. Add-on buttons have been removed so patients are not pushed to choose everything before booking.

Who is the Endometrium Health Check For?
For women aged 18-81 with bleeding concerns, postpartum questions, perimenopausal or postmenopausal bleeding — or anyone wanting comprehensive endometrial baseline assessment.
Postmenopausal bleeding
Bleeding after menopause always requires investigation — endometrial cancer must be excluded. Critical assessment.
Heavy menstrual bleeding
Heavy or prolonged periods (menorrhagia) — common causes include fibroids, polyps, hormonal imbalance, and coagulation disorders.
Irregular bleeding
Intermenstrual bleeding, breakthrough bleeding on hormonal contraception, or unpredictable cycle patterns.
Amenorrhoea (absent periods)
Absent periods (not due to pregnancy or menopause) — may signal hormonal, structural, or endocrine causes.
Postpartum bleeding concerns
Persistent bleeding after childbirth — assess retained products of conception, endometritis, or other causes.
Tamoxifen users
Tamoxifen (breast cancer therapy) increases endometrial cancer risk — annual surveillance recommended.
HRT users with bleeding
Women on HRT with breakthrough bleeding — endometrial assessment is critical.
Family history of endometrial/ovarian cancer
Family history (including Lynch syndrome) increases endometrial cancer risk — proactive screening recommended.

What is HE4 and why is it included?
HE4 (Human Epididymis Protein 4) is a tumour marker that may be elevated in cases of endometrial cancer, providing additional information for cancer screening alongside ultrasound findings.
Key features:
- Marker for endometrial and ovarian cancer
- Less affected by benign conditions than CA 125
- Best interpreted alongside imaging and clinical assessment
- Used in combination with CA 125 for ROMA score (ovarian cancer risk)
HE4 is included as standard in this package — most clinics charge it as an add-on.
