Ultrasound scan Preparation:
Please check what preparation is needed before your ultrasound scan below:
All Pelvic scans
Kidney and Urinary tract
Prostate & Urinary Tract
Appendicitis
- Drink One liter of still water (2 Pints) One hour before your scan.
- Do NOT use the toilet so you would arrive with a full bladder.
- Medication can be taken as normal.
All Abdomen scans
Abdominal Aorta for Aneurysm (AAA)
All Health Check Ups
Full body ultrasound scans
- Do NOT eat for 6 hours prior to examination time.
- Do NOT Drink any fizzy drinks.
- Drink One liter of still water (2 Pints) One hour before your scan.
- Medication can be taken as normal.
- If Diabetic, please stick to your normal routine.
Fibroscan
(Liver Elastography)
- Do NOT eat for 6 hours prior to examination time.
- Do NOT Drink any fizzy drinks.
- Do NOT Drink any sugary Drinks.
- Drink Still water as normal.
- Medication can be taken as normal.
- If Diabetic, please stick to your normal routine.
Transvaginal Ultrasound
- No preparation.
- We can still scan if patient is having a period.
- Empty bladder just before the scan.
ECG (Heart Health Check-Up)
Wear comfortable, loose clothing for easy chest access, avoid using lotions or powders on the electrode placement area, and male patients with hairy chests should shave to ensure good electrode contact by shaving the left upper chest (if needed).
