Full Body Ultrasound Scan Premium

Full Body Ultrasound Premium is the most comprehensive single-visit screening package at London Private Ultrasound. A 120-minute examination combining all nine ultrasound assessments from our Plus package with a complete Heart Health Check.

Ultrasound component (80 minutes):

• Thyroid & neck, carotid Doppler, abdomen, kidneys, pelvic/genital, lymph nodes
• Bilateral breast, axilla, chest wall

Heart Health Check component (40 minutes):

• Echocardiogram (heart ultrasound)
• 12-lead ECG

• Vital signs assessment
• Face-to-face Cardiologist consultation

Premium includes everything in Full Body Ultrasound Plus (£800) plus a complete Heart Health Check delivered by a Consultant Cardiologist. The Heart Health Check adds:

• Echocardiogram — heart ultrasound assessing all four chambers, valves, and pumping function
• ECG — 12-lead electrocardiogram for rhythm and conduction analysis
• Physical examination of the cardiovascular system
• Vital signs assessment
• Face-to-face consultation with one of our Consultant Cardiologists

Premium is 120 minutes (vs 80 for Plus) and £1,200 (vs £800). The standalone Heart Health Check costs £449 — by booking Premium, you save £49 on this addition alone.

Full Body Ultrasound Premium costs £1,200 all-inclusive. The fee includes:

• 120-minute appointment combining ultrasound (80 min) and cardiology (40 min)
• Nine comprehensive ultrasound examinations
• Complete Heart Health Check (Echocardiogram, ECG, examination, consultation)
• Same-day verbal results from both specialists
• Integrated written report covering ultrasound and cardiology findings within 24 hours
• Onward referral letter if any findings require further investigation

When booked individually, the equivalent examinations would cost over £2,052. Premium represents savings of more than £850.

The Heart Health Check component of Premium is performed by one of our Consultant Cardiologists — all GMC-registered specialists in cardiology:

• Dr Farveh Vakilian — Consultant Cardiologist specialising in echocardiography and preventive cardiology
• Dr Hana Pospisilova — Consultant Cardiologist with experience in echocardiography and cardiovascular medicine
• Dr Mohammad Almajali — Consultant Cardiologist with experience in echocardiography and clinical cardiology

The Cardiologist personally performs your Echocardiogram, reviews your ECG, conducts the physical examination, and discusses findings with you in a face-to-face consultation.

The Echocardiogram is a heart ultrasound assessing structure and function in real time. It can detect:

• Heart valve disease — aortic stenosis, mitral regurgitation, valve prolapse
• Heart muscle disorders — cardiomyopathy, hypertrophy
• Congenital heart abnormalities
• Pericardial effusion — fluid around the heart
• Reduced ejection fraction — heart failure
• Atrial and ventricular enlargement
• Septal defects — holes in the heart
• Diastolic dysfunction

Combined with the ECG, physical exam, and clinical history, your Cardiologist builds a complete picture of your cardiovascular health and risk.

They are completely different tests, both included in Premium:

• An ECG (electrocardiogram) is an electrical recording. Sticky electrodes placed on the chest record the heart’s electrical activity, showing rhythm, rate, and conduction abnormalities. It detects arrhythmias, prior heart attacks, and electrical problems.
• An Echocardiogram is an ultrasound. Using a probe and gel on the chest, it produces real-time moving images of the heart’s chambers, valves, and pumping function. It detects structural and functional problems.

Together, they provide a complete cardiology assessment — electrical and structural.

Yes. Premium includes a full face-to-face consultation with your Consultant Cardiologist. The Cardiologist:

• Personally performs your Echocardiogram
• Reviews your ECG and clinical history
• Conducts the physical examination
• Discusses findings with you in detail
• Answers your questions
• Provides personalised cardiovascular risk advice

This is significantly more thorough than the typical NHS pathway, where the Echocardiogram is performed by a sonographer and the Cardiologist may only review the report afterward.

For optimal imaging quality:

• Fast for 6 hours before your appointment (water permitted) — essential for clear gallbladder and pancreas imaging
• Drink 500ml of water 30 minutes before arrival to fill the bladder for pelvic assessment
• Wear loose, comfortable clothing in two pieces — you will need to undress to the waist for breast examination and Echocardiogram
• Avoid wearing perfume, deodorant, or talcum powder on the chest area
• Bring any prior cardiology reports, ECGs, or echocardiograms
• Allow 120 minutes for the appointment plus 10–15 minutes for arrival

The scan is non-invasive, painless, and uses no ionising radiation. You can drive yourself to and from the appointment.

If your Premium screening identifies a condition requiring NHS specialist management — for example significant valvular disease, a suspicious lesion, abdominal aortic aneurysm requiring vascular surgery follow-up, or a cardiac finding requiring further investigation — we generate a same-day formal referral letter for your GP at no additional charge.

The referral is significantly stronger because it includes confirmed imaging findings and a Consultant Cardiologist’s assessment — meaning your specialist appointment is more productive from the first visit.
