Common questions

Men’s Health Check Premium FAQs

How much does the health check cost?

The core Men’s Health Check Premium costs £1,795. The optional 60-minute muscular and physical health assessment is an additional £300, bringing the combined price to £2,095.

What is included in the Full Body Ultrasound?

The 60-minute men’s ultrasound includes thyroid and neck, carotid Doppler including CIMT, abdominal aorta ultrasound, bilateral breast tissue, chest wall and armpits, pancreas, liver, gallbladder, kidneys and urinary tract, prostate and both testes.

Why is an abdominal aorta ultrasound included?

The abdominal aorta scan assesses the main artery in the abdomen for enlargement or aneurysmal change. It adds an important vascular component to the wider preventive screening package.

Does the package include a prostate ultrasound?

Yes. The men’s Full Body Ultrasound includes assessment of the prostate as part of the male-specific imaging component.

Does the package include testicular ultrasound?

Yes. Both testes are assessed by ultrasound as part of the men’s Full Body Ultrasound.

Who performs the heart assessment?

The Heart Health Package is delivered by a Consultant Cardiologist and includes an echocardiogram, 12-lead ECG, cardiac physical examination and cardiovascular history.

What does the echocardiogram assess?

An echocardiogram evaluates the heart’s chambers, valves, pumping function and blood flow patterns. The Consultant Cardiologist interprets the findings alongside the ECG, examination and medical history.

What is a 12-lead ECG?

A 12-lead ECG records the electrical activity of the heart and can identify rhythm abnormalities, conduction changes and other patterns that may require further assessment.

How long is the GP consultation?

The private GP consultation lasts 40 minutes and is intended to review your medical history, risk profile and the findings generated by the package.

What blood tests are included?

The package includes more than 30 blood markers covering areas such as full blood count, inflammation, kidney and liver function, glucose control, cholesterol, thyroid function, iron status and selected vitamins. Exact markers may vary according to the agreed clinical panel.

Is PSA included?

PSA may be included where it forms part of the selected men’s blood profile and is clinically appropriate. PSA is interpreted alongside age, symptoms, medical history and prostate findings rather than used alone.

Can I add a muscular and physical assessment?

Yes. A 60-minute muscular and physical health assessment can be added for £300.

What does the muscular and physical health add-on cover?

The add-on is designed for men who also want assessment of mobility, posture, joint or muscular symptoms, physical function, exercise-related concerns or general musculoskeletal health.

Are all components always completed on the same day?

They may be coordinated on the same day or across linked appointments. Blood results must be available before the most complete GP review, and scheduling also depends on specialist availability.

How long does the full package take?

The core face-to-face components total approximately 160 to 180 minutes, excluding waiting time and any gap before the GP review of completed blood results. Appointments may be divided across more than one visit.

Do I need a GP referral?

No GP referral is required. You can book the package directly online, by telephone or through WhatsApp.

Do I need to fast before the blood test or ultrasound?

Preparation depends on the final blood panel and appointment sequence. You may be asked to fast and to attend with a comfortably full bladder for parts of the ultrasound. The clinic will provide specific preparation instructions before your appointment.

When will I receive my results?

Ultrasound and cardiology findings are generally discussed during or shortly after the relevant appointments. Blood-test turnaround varies by marker, and the integrated GP review is arranged once the required results are available.

What happens if an abnormality is found?

The relevant clinician will explain the finding and recommend the next step. This may include repeat imaging, further blood tests, GP follow-up or referral to an appropriate specialist.

Does this health check guarantee that no disease is present?

No health screening package can exclude every condition or replace symptom-led medical assessment. The package provides broad preventive screening, but further tests or specialist referrals may be advised depending on symptoms, history or findings.

Is this suitable if I already have symptoms?

The package can provide useful broad assessment, but significant or urgent symptoms may require a targeted medical consultation or specific diagnostic pathway rather than routine screening alone. Contact the clinic before booking if you are unsure.
