One coordinated assessment. One clear plan.

Cancer anxiety is different from a routine health concern. When something feels wrong — urinary symptoms, a testicular change, abdominal discomfort, unexplained weight loss, abnormal blood results, family history or persistent worry — waiting weeks for fragmented appointments can be stressful.

The Premium Men’s Cancer Alert Package at London Private Ultrasound brings imaging, blood markers and GP medical interpretation into one private diagnostic pathway. The purpose is to detect suspicious findings early, interpret risk markers in context and guide the right next step quickly.

At a glance

What your package includes

A premium men’s screening pathway focused on the organs and markers most relevant to prostate, bladder, testicular, kidney and upper abdominal health.

4-zone ultrasound

Prostate and bladder, testicles, kidneys and upper abdominal organs including liver, pancreas and spleen.

7-biomarker profile

PSA, CRP, urea, creatinine, eGFR, sodium and potassium to support clinical interpretation.

GP medical review

A focused consultation to review symptoms, scan findings, blood results, risk factors and next steps.

Four diagnostic pillars

A complete men’s cancer-risk assessment framework

1

Structural imaging

High-resolution ultrasound is used to assess key male organs and look for visible abnormalities that may need monitoring or further investigation.

  • Prostate and bladder
  • Testicles and scrotum
  • Kidneys
  • Upper abdominal organs
2

Blood markers

Targeted blood tests help assess prostate health, inflammation, kidney function and electrolyte balance.

  • PSA
  • CRP
  • Kidney function profile
  • Electrolytes
3

Medical interpretation

Your results are reviewed in clinical context rather than as isolated reports.

  • Symptoms
  • Family history
  • Previous results
  • Risk profile
4

Referral planning

If anything suspicious or clinically significant is found, you receive guidance on the appropriate next step.

  • MRI or CT pathway
  • Urology referral
  • Oncology referral
  • Follow-up imaging

Designed for men who want fast clinical clarity

This package is especially suitable for men with prostate concerns, urinary symptoms, testicular changes, kidney concerns, abdominal symptoms, abnormal previous results or family history of male cancers.

Clear same-day ultrasound feedback
Private GP review included
No referral required
Escalation plan where needed
Phase I

4-zone consultant-led ultrasound assessment

Your scan focuses on key male health areas where ultrasound can provide valuable first-line structural information.

Prostate and bladder ultrasound

Assessment of prostate size, bladder wall appearance, bladder contents and post-void residual urine where clinically indicated.

  • Prostate enlargement assessment
  • Urinary symptom investigation
  • Bladder wall and visible abnormalities
  • Post-void residual urine where appropriate

Testicular and scrotal ultrasound

High-resolution assessment of both testicles and scrotal structures for lumps, swelling, pain, asymmetry or new changes.

  • Testicular lumps and focal lesions
  • Cysts, hydrocele and varicocele
  • Inflammation and structural changes
  • Scrotal pain or swelling assessment

Kidney ultrasound

Assessment of both kidneys for masses, cysts, stones, obstruction, hydronephrosis and other structural findings.

  • Kidney masses or cysts
  • Kidney stones
  • Hydronephrosis or obstruction
  • Kidney size and structure

Upper abdominal ultrasound

Assessment of key abdominal organs including liver, pancreas and spleen where visible by ultrasound.

  • Liver lesions, cysts and texture
  • Pancreatic visible abnormalities
  • Spleen size and focal findings
  • Unexpected upper abdominal abnormalities
Phase II

Targeted 7-biomarker blood profile

Marker Clinical role Why it matters
PSA Prostate-specific antigen Supports prostate health assessment but must be interpreted with symptoms, age, prostate size and clinical context.
CRP Inflammation marker May rise with inflammation or infection; it is not a cancer diagnosis by itself.
Urea Kidney function Helps assess kidney function alongside creatinine and eGFR.
Creatinine Kidney function Supports assessment of kidney filtration and may guide further imaging decisions.
eGFR Estimated kidney filtration rate Provides a calculated measure of kidney function.
Sodium Electrolyte balance Helps assess general metabolic and kidney-related status.
Potassium Electrolyte balance Important for kidney, cardiac and metabolic health context.

Important: PSA can be raised for several reasons, including prostate enlargement, inflammation, infection, urinary retention, recent ejaculation, cycling or prostate cancer. PSA is useful, but it is not a stand-alone cancer diagnosis.
Phase III

GP medical strategy consultation

The GP review connects your scan, blood results, symptoms and risk factors into one clear medical plan.

Clinical context

Your GP reviews symptoms, family history, previous results, medication and personal risk factors.

Result interpretation

Your scan and blood results are explained together, rather than leaving you with separate unexplained reports.

Next-step plan

You receive guidance on whether monitoring, further testing or specialist referral is appropriate.

Your pathway

From concern to clear next steps

1

Book directly

No GP referral is required. Bring any previous PSA results, ultrasound reports, MRI reports, hospital letters, urine tests or family history details if available.

2

Attend your 4-zone ultrasound

Your ultrasound consultant performs the scan and provides immediate verbal feedback, followed by a written ultrasound report.

3

Blood sample and biomarker profile

Your blood sample is taken for PSA, CRP, kidney function and electrolyte markers.

4

GP medical review

Your GP consultation brings your symptoms, scan findings and blood results together into one medical strategy.

5

Referral support if needed

If further investigation is clinically indicated, we can guide you toward MRI, CT, urology, oncology, repeat blood tests, urine testing or follow-up imaging.

What this package can and cannot do

What it can help with

This package can help identify visible ultrasound abnormalities, assess prostate-related risk markers, review kidney function and provide a medically guided next-step plan.

What it cannot guarantee

No blood test or ultrasound package can definitively rule out all cancers. Suspicious, unclear or limited findings may require MRI, CT, biopsy, specialist urology, oncology or further investigations.

Medical safety note: This service is not an emergency pathway. If you have severe pain, heavy bleeding, chest pain, collapse, severe infection symptoms, sudden testicular pain, or rapidly worsening symptoms, seek urgent medical help through NHS 111, your GP, urgent care or 999 as appropriate.

Frequently asked questions

Men’s Cancer Alert FAQs

Do I need a GP referral?
No. You can book directly with London Private Ultrasound without a GP referral.
Can this package diagnose cancer?
The package can identify suspicious findings and risk markers, but cancer diagnosis may require further investigations such as MRI, CT, biopsy or specialist review. It should be seen as a fast-track risk assessment and diagnostic guidance pathway.
What cancers does this package focus on?
The package focuses on male cancer-related concerns involving the prostate, testicles, kidneys, bladder and upper abdominal organs including liver, pancreas and spleen.
Is PSA enough to rule out prostate cancer?
No. PSA is useful but not definitive. PSA can be normal in some men with prostate cancer and raised in men without cancer. It must be interpreted with symptoms, examination, imaging, age, prostate size, family history and specialist advice where needed.
What is the Stockholm3 add-on?
Stockholm3 is an optional prostate risk assessment test. It may be considered for selected patients where PSA and clinical context suggest that more detailed risk stratification is useful.
Will I receive my report on the same day?
You will receive verbal ultrasound feedback during your scan and a written ultrasound report. Blood test processing depends on laboratory turnaround time, and your GP review brings your results together into a medical plan.
What happens if something abnormal is found?
Your GP and clinical team can advise on the most appropriate next step, which may include MRI, CT, urology referral, oncology referral, repeat blood tests, urine testing or follow-up imaging.
Where are the clinics?
London Private Ultrasound provides appointments in Central London and St Albans.
